Documentation is the first required step towards conservation.

How to define old growth trees for this campaign,

• Age 50+ years

• Circumference of bole about or more than 2 m (200 cm)

• Preferably local species

Do fill in information about such trees in the form given below. 

Important notes :

• Do confirm once that the tree is not recorded before in the map. 

• Trees grow slowly in certain climatic zones like desert, himalay, or habitats like rocks, where trees with circumference of 1 m (100 cm) can be recorded. 

• Some non-native trees, which are planted in very large numbers like Raintree, Mohogani, grow very fast and attain large size in a short duration. Please do not enter them in the form. But if at all those are hosting nests or any other life forms or you come across it's importance do register those also.

• For more than one tree, fill a separate form for each tree.

• This campaign is mainly for single standing old growth trees or the ones standing in a row or two. Old trees within a big forest patch are not expected to be recorded.
